  • Refugees

Donald Trump, when he became president, he said he was going to toss out all of the illegals, in the U.S.A. Our not to bright priminister, stated, come to Canada, we welcome you. In droves they have been arriving. Welfare agencies are running out of money, have requested more money from Ottawa, many of these refugees, are not being screened properly, it is turning into one hell of a problem.

For genuine refugees who are fleeing from dictators, racial cleansing etc it's a terrible life, but no one country can throw open it's doors and say come in. Look at the boat people coming to Australia a few years ago, it would seem that the countries these refugees were sailing from turned a blind eye to the people smugglers. If refugees how come so many could afford to pay for the boat trip anyway? If you're a refugee you have nothing but the clothes you wear and any goods you can carry.

You don't have to be destitute to be a refugee. Some would have been able to afford it while others had to sell everything they owned.

Pretty narrow definition/criteria on which to base the classification of "refugee"?

          How wide is yours?

Does your definition take into account the feelings of all those who will be taxed to fund this compulsory generosity?

We're going again because superior people (such as the Labour Party members in Islington) are making decisions which only affect the traditional working class in districts far, far away from them.

They aren’t superior people, they’re politicians

Yes, you're right. I should have placed inverted commas around the word 'superior'.

But the Lady Nujee of Islington obviously sees herself as superior to the 'White Van Man'.

Anyone can see themself as superior. The only thing that matters is if other people recognise that superiority, and for politicians they very rarely do.

I can't make any sense out of that question. How can the definition of a word take feelings into account?

There isn't any. He's stretching the boundaries of language to try and make a political point.
