  • The latest poll on Donald Trump

Latest poll. Around 60 percent of Americans disapprove of this man in the White House. His remarks about former president Obama, not being Born in America and Senator John McCain being a coward and not a patriotic American, proves that he has an unbalanced mind and is not suitable to be president of the United States. Donald Trump may not realize this, his worst enemy is Donald Trump.

Didn't he make both of those comments before he became President? Certainly, the Obama thing was years ago. Either way, poor judgement is hardly proof of an 'unsound mind', or for that matter suitably for high office.

Paxton Milk- try googling the transcripts of any of his recent speeches to an actual audience- they are pretty much all rambling, disjointed and often bizarre, even if you ignore the lies and distortions.

The phrase 'sundowning' is often used and reading through them, they may have a point.

Not suggesting, he isn't losing the plot (though his speeches have always been rambling), just challenging Derick Angerman's assertion that those two particular comments prove anything about his current state of mind

Trumps campaign about Obamas birth certificate showed him to be a racist bullying narcissist (rather than out of his mind), which helped him get the nomination- a lot of Republicans loved it. The McCain quote was all about being a bully, and a small man trying to be big.

He was always a worm. He is just become unhinged as well.

Don't disagree with you, Bonekicker. My contention is both attacks were made years ago and neither suggests current mental imbalance. I think we are both saying the same thing

His polling is dire - check out 538s page on his polling and compare that with other presidents. He is currently at 41% as an average, which while not the worst that he or other presidents have been is pretty bad. 54.5% disapproval is not good at all, two months before mid terms. Yes, there are some higher numbers, such as the Ras 48%, but Ras has always had a Republican lean.

Most Republicans will stay with him, because he is a Republican - it's as simple and as shamelessly partisan as that. But 25% or more still approved of Nixon the day before he resigned. It's how much they approve, and who turns out that's important. The poll that showed over 50% of voters think he should be subject to impeachment was a clear danger point, Mueller is not going away, despite his worst efforts, firing Sessions is not going to help, and angry tweeting while McCain's funeral was on just makes it worse

The House and Senate Republicans are sweating big time - Cook thinks it likely they are going to lose the House, (generic Dems up 11 points) , and 538 gives then Dems a 75% chance of taking it. The Senate is much harder, especially sinve Dems are playing defence in so many states this time and GOP voter suppression is still a big thing, but O'Roake is down just one point against Cruz in Texas. IN TEXAS.

Trump is not going to help, and it will be fun to see who wants him campaigning next to them, and who does not. Trump is on the road because it gets him out of the West Wing, his job and gives him the love that he craves. But a lot of Republicans must thunk of him as poison for the generals.

Can't wait for this awful man to be out of the WH. It's like a bad dream every day, knowing the president of the most powerful country in the world is someone so ill-equipped for the position.

Full employment. The United States unemployment rate has dipped below 4 percent. Everyone is working, except for those, who prefer welfare payments, which I am sure all countries have, I now wonder if Donald Trump may succeed a second term in the White House? Time will tell. Our neighbor to the north, Canada, unemployment rate is still near 6 percent. Politics, is like the stock market, up and down. One wonders, as I recall, many individuals predicted that Obama would be a one term president, yet he was voted in a second time.

Your probably too young, Shirley, to remember Richard Nixon, a thoroughly odious man, a criminal and a despot who did some truly terrible things, Watergate being the least of it, and even when these were common knowledge, he managed to cling on to office for a long time. We are a long way, I think, from the end of Trump.

The next presidential election is in 2020 and there is another candidate for it.

Oh yes, I've been around long enough to remember Tricky Dicky. An odious man indeed, but at least he pulled the U.S. out of the Vietnam War and ended conscription.

Trump's supporters say he's done a lot of good things but they don't say what.
