Where have we seen that pattern before?
I wouldn't have thought so, not if they're extending the Studio area.

Yes, some great pictures provided by Tony there. I think the November 1970 scenes will be from I, Monster.

Looking at the 1960 pictures, I'm wondering if the middle east set was used briefly in the opening and closing scenes of Circle of Deception. No studio is mentioned in the onscreen credits.

Thanks guys, I figured someone hereabouts would know the answer.

Some great shots in that collection, btw, Anthony

Previous standing sets were cleared to make way for 'Oliver!' - but the the 'Oliver!' set was standing (other than Berkley Square) well into the '70s.

The sets for "OLIVER!" were constructed specially for the film.
A small section of the set appeared soon after in "THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE" (1969)
The set stood for quite a long time and productions such as "THE CREEPING FLESH" took full advantage of it.
Can't think of any others at the present......"SCROOGE"?

    started a topic Shepperton backlot

    Shepperton backlot

i have read that Shepperton's East End London street sets seen in Oliver! appear in a number of other movies. Two questions: were these sets purpose built for Carol Reed or were they already standing? And, what other movies made use of them?
Working...
