Rest In Peace, Doreen. I remember watching her in Coronation Street in the early 1960s, when she played Concepta Hewitt. I was only watching her the other day in the CFF film “The Christmas Tree” released in 1966, where she played the mother of William Burleigh; Kate Nicholls and Anthony Honour. She can be seen in this short clip from the film as she enters a hospital ward.

The actor Doreen Keogh? I always thought she was an actress.

Actresses are actors too. An Actor is “one who acts”, it’s a gender-neutral term. Many female actors prefer to be called actors rather than actresses.

An “actress” is usually applied to someone who thinks that appearance & reputation (fame) are more important than the craft

This isn’t being PC, it’s using the English language properly
