Natural causes at 53? Seems awfully young and she hadn’t done anything for ten years. No TV or Theatre or even the last two Comic Relief Dibley specials. Of course she could have retired I guess. Anyway, very sad. Lovely performance in Dibley.

I found this article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/heal...r-the-cat.html which says she was very allergic to animals. I wonder...

I've just watched her famous "I can't believe it's not butter" speech from The Vicar of Dibley. Apparently she was given the script and Dawn French said "you'll never be able to learn that". Emma and her husband were driving on a long journey that weekend so she practised it many times in the car and eventually became word-perfect, much to Dawn's amazement at rehearsals a day or so later.

Such sad news. 53 is young for natural causes!

          R.I.P.

Loved her in The Vicar of Dibley. She was younger than me ... which gives one pause to ponder.

What a shock this is. 53 is far too young.
Very talented and brilliantly funny in The Vicar of Dibley.

Funny, I suppose, but I never found the Vicar of Dibley that funny, but Emma playing Alice was just superb, ditzy and lovable. Seems unfair to lose such talent at 53 years old, when the likes of the Kardashians still flourish. Or, is it me?
