  • A Very English Scandal on BBC1.

I watched all 3 episodes of this recreation of the Jeremy Thorpe affair and found it compulsive viewing with Hugh Grant turning in a superb performance as Thorpe and then followed it up with the BBC4 showing of the "pulled" Panorama programme from that era. The resemblances to the main characters was excellent. Any other views ?

Excellent series...and Hugh Grant really nailed Thorpe. Superb performance.

Great success. Loved it when Thorpe has to resign and says "Don't worry, the Party will be all right as Cyril Smith or Clement Freud will take over!!"

Catching up with this one a bit late, but just sat through all three episodes in on earth sitting and thought it was excellent. Grant was superb and Stephen Frears really caught the absurdity of the whole situation.
