    ... is it just me? Everyone seems to be raving about this. Saw it at the weekend and didn't really get it. It's been described as having stunning photography (eh?), romantic (it isn't) and realistic (nope). Ok, it is shot in a documentary style but for the most part is just endless misery, like watching a particularly depressing episode of EastEnders. The final scene is very touching but boy, does it take a long time to get there ...

    Is it a religious film?

    Is it as dreary as Terence Davies' endlessly bleak efforts? Does it attempt a political point like those Mike Leigh/Ken Loach efforts which people use as a vehicle for their tribal hatreds?
