        Why the inverted commas?

Will they change the ending though? If not why go and see it if you know it?

Given that it was published in the mid-thirties and has sold several million copies, I think the same questions could have been applied to the 1974 version.

Film makers have a knack of changing endings that differ from books.

Its Agatha Christie - they'll mod it if they need to - its not as if people will storm out if its not identical to the book they read 30 years ago on a wet weekend when there wasn't much else to do. In fact, I'm pretty sure much of Christie gets slightly modded for each new film or TV series anyway.

Have you seen the trailer? Looks awful. Poirot has gray hair and has a Billy Bevan moustache.

Poirot has always looked and sounded ridiculous - the trailer shows Branagh looking slightly thinner than perhaps we are used to, but the moustache is no worse than usual, and certainly no more silly than Finney's. Actually, until I checked, I had no idea just how many actors had played the character.

The whole thing is madder than a box of frogs anyway, so why worry?

                          Re #3 and #4

This version is MORE multicultural, there are 'carriage crashes' and the inverted commas are to convey a sense of distancing irony.

                            What makes it MORE multicultural?
I always thought that words lik multicultural were absolutes. Things either are multicultural or they aren’t. There are no degrees of multiculturality.

                            Are ‘carriage crashes multicultural?

^ You're obviously not a Guardianista and are unaware of the evils of White Privilege and the creed of Intersectionality.
