  • The Two Popes

Always enjoy coming to a subject with little background knowledge and coming away feeling I learned something. This is a interesting film, comprising largely of two old men talking, but it makes riveting viewing- helped enormously by a charismatic performance from the leads, and in particular Jonathan Pryce, who is sensational. I am a complete atheist with little time for organized religion, but I headed over to Google afterwards to read more about Pope Francis

My favorite movie of the year. The dialogues are magnificent and make us discover with accuracy and poetry the life of the two men.

1917 is still the best for me, but The Two Popes is right up there.

I saw this film. I am not a catholic. I did find the sets were interesting. Some actuel locals and some studio sets. Film was a bit too long.
