  • Burglar enters house

This is a film about a burglar who enters the house of a psychiatrist. Might be old and in b&w. All I remember is that the psychiatrist treats the burglar and talks him out of burgling the house.

    Probably "The Sleeping Tiger" 1954.

      The Intruder (1953) maybe?
Directed by Guy Hamilton. With Michael Ripper, Jack Hawkins, Hugh Williams, Michael Medwin. Ex regimental commander Colonel Merton catches one of his former NCOs burgling his house and investigates to find the reason behind this desperate act.

That was also my first thought, but from Zulu's description I think it has to be the Sleeping Tiger with Dirk Bogarde and Alexander Knox.

I'm not sure it was either of these. As far as I remember there had never been any relationship between the burglar and the owner of the house. This is what made it so interesting. It may not have even been a British film.
