  • The BFI are Passionate about....

Their Mission Statement is 'We are the BFI. We are Passionate about film...

...We use lottery money to 'inspire people to watch, make and learn about film'.

The BFI are now celebrating 'Women with a Movie Camera' and all that 'great cinema; all originating from women with a movie camera. Behind every great female-directed film is a female director'.

And there's a rallying cry— 'It’s time to make them iconic'!

The climax of this month-long celebration of womanhood is devoted to a man who seems to specialise in getting sacked.

The Wiki page seems to think that Munroe Bergdorf is a woman, not a man. She seems to have been born male, went to an all-boys school but now identifies herself as a woman
In February 2018, she was appointed as an LGBT adviser to the British Labour Party, although she resigned the following month citing tabloid pressure.

... Elsewhere she stated: "I definitely set out to empower girls like me." Later Bergdorf went on to point out that white people as a group are brought up racist, stating: "most of ya’ll don’t even realise or refuse to acknowledge that your existence, privilege and success as a race is built on the backs, blood and death of people of colour." After these comments, L'Oréal fired her from its campaign

Bergdorf attracted further public attention following an article in The Daily Mail highlighting Facebook comments that she had made about white people.

The BFI has belatedly realised that inviting a non-woman non-film-maker to star in a celebration of Woman Film-makers was a just a little too Post-Modern.

Almost 2,000 filmgoers have described the idea as 'extraordinarily insulting' and a 'clumsy headline-grabbing appointment'. 'Choosing a man in woman costume with no experience in the film industry' is 'trend-pandering at its worst.'

This 'publicity-seeker' is a 'parody', a homophobic misogynist fetishising a hyper-sexualised male idea of subjugated women'.

'BFI are joining in with the craze for science denialism'.

It is the publicity-seeking decision-makers at the BFI who need help.

They thought serious film-lovers would want to pay good money to be lectured at by a fake-Woman seething with Terf-hatred.

Well, I can't think anyone would want to pay to hear that but if this lady has something g interesting, challenging and/or provocative to say about cinema, then I am sure lots of serious-lovers would want to hear it.

Have you ever considered therapy to help work out your problems?
