    Black Narcissus

It gets 5 stars in the Radio Times but doesn't get a separate write up anywhere

    Enjoy

I am sure Barry Norman will have done a feature on a previous BBC showing.

              The Black Shoes
David Farrer takes a nun to Europe to train as a ballerina. However she will only dance in black leather pumps.Sadly she trips over her habit and laces and falls under a train.

That sounds terrible, whoever David Career is

                Don't bother making the film

                What about Red Narcissus?

Laces make the pumps sound more like Scottish dance shoes...another twist?

In The Red Shoes Vicky (Moira Shearer) jumps into her ballet shoes/slippers/pumps and they lace themselves up around her ankles & legs

                    It's all very clever stuff

Here's goes for Red Narcissus.Maurius Boring finds Moira Shearer living in a Hutterite community in Canada. They are perused by the crew of a Nazi sub. They manage to take over the sub and sail it across the Atlantic till they are sunk by HMS Ajax. However they are rescued by Captain Conrad Veidt. However once ashore they are attacked by a mysterious man who poures glue over them.So they go to a Turkish bath to have it cleaned off. They go to have their passport taken but are polished off by a mad photographer.
Well what do you think?Academy award winner 2018.

I think it sounds like a terrible rip-off of someone else's brilliant career. I hope it's meant as a joke, but I ain't laughing, or even smiling at the idea

Near the end, is Sister Briony (Judith Furse) sitting on one of the Donkey's (as the other Nun's are) ?.........I don't think I can see her.

Is that Sister Briony standing by the side of the road as the sisters ride past on their Himalayan Ponies (not donkeys)?

Yes, I've just checked it on the Blu-ray on the big screen TV. That's definitely Sister Briony standing by the side of the road, checking everything on her list, as the ponies carrying the other nuns and the locals pass by
