    Most of Sons of the Sea (1939) was filmed ("entirely in Dufaycolor") in Devon, but as it was based out of Rock Studios, Elstree, this is the more convenient home for Kay Walsh and her dad Kynaston Reeves - mind you, only 18 years older than her - as the Devar family, now presumably part of the Laura Ashley family :

    Anyone working on the film from Rock Studios would have been aware of Ludwig Blattner's death at The Edgwarebury only four years earlier - a tragic end for such a talented man.
