  • Vengeance is Mine (1949)

My initial thought was perhaps an aspect of the old County Hall but it doesn't seem to fit. Then I thought perhaps Seething Lane but again it doesn't seem to fit.

Here's another one. He enters the door on the right in the third shot.

Looks very much like the sort of building/area which would no longer be there...

I might be on to a cheat on this one. Renee Glynne was Continuity on this move and she's a Facebook friend of mine. I've just asked if she can recall....
But before she answers, can I stake my bets on it being somewhere like Camden Town. I can't check now, but when I go for a stroll on Google Streetview later to see what comes up, I think I might start around there.

Without any further clues from the lady who worked on the film... I've just been Google Streetview riding through London. I headed down to Bloomsbury and Covent Garden and the buildings started looking a lot more likely... but there are plenty of modern buildings which could be standing right on top of the former location - how would we ever know?

There's always a lot of rebuilding going on in London.
                  They haven't finished it yet

He that is tired of London is tired of life, for there is in London all that life can afford.
