Chesil beach, Portland and Portland Harbour are fairly iconic landmarks and appear in a few films.

    The Dambusters
    Out of Season (1975)

A great (if lesser known) film by Powell & Pressburger.

A wonderful film, one of my favourite PnP movies. David Farrar is quite good in it.

I saw a wartime film a few months ago, b&w. There were several shots of naval vessels going in and out of Portland harbour. I can't recall the title.

Could it have been "In Which We Serve" or "The Key"? I checked IMDB, and both films had segments shot at Portland harbour.

The one I couldn't remember was "The Ship That Died of Shame".
