  • Hammer Soundtrack CD's

Got into collecting a few of the Hammer Soundtrack CD's and the quality is high. Most recent purchases are Dracula A.D.1972 with its funky trendy rock band songs along with the full blown Hammer music composed by Mike Vickers and performed by the Hammer Studio Orchestra.
Its partner The Satanic Rites of Dracula is another goody by John Cacavas and 21 track with both being around 55 minutes. Both of these were limited editions of 1500 and Satanic only 1000 units.

Best place to buy is ebay at around £10 each.

Each come with a nice booklet with all the top gen in and pictures.

The premier Hammer composer was of course James Bernard and it's well known that his famous theme for Dracula plays out the name DRA-CU-LA. But I've noticed many of the Hammer horrors he composed did the same thing. Listen to the main titles of The Curse of Frankenstein, Frankenstein Created Woman and Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed in particular and you'll see what I mean.
